Football Gryphon recruits shine in All Star game GTA vs GHR NFL

The most impressive part of the victory was the GHR’s domination of the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.  Six Gryphon recruits were key parts of that domination – OC Jamie Lalonde, LT Kyle Fraser, RT Steve Mburanumwe, RT Tyler Case, DT Zack Mallough and DE Ben Osmow.  The GHR O-Line was coached by Guelph’s Mike MacDonald.  His starting OL unit featured three future Gryphons and their effective blocking made it possible for the GHR to score 20 points in the 1st quarter.

The only one of the linemen recruits I hadn’t seen play before was London’s Mallough.  He was a disruptive force in the middle all game long, generating push on every play and demanding double teams. He broke through several times to make plays in the backfield. He would have been my choice for defensive MVP.  Ben Osmow played like the stud everyone knows him to be in spite of being limited by an injury. Brandon Hunter was impressive at defensive back making several plays and tackles.
